Legal Question in Elder Law in Illinois

Can we apply for guardianship against POA?

Grandmother gave POA to her son after her husband died. The Son has been paying her bills and taking care of her extensive finances. Family suspects the son is ''stealing'' her money. We know he is. She doesn't have that many bills, but yet there are a lot of checks written out of her account. He has also moved money from her savings with out her knowledge to IRA's (He says). This is money that is to be for her care if she needs skilled cared. She is afraid of her son. Can legal action be taken against the POA if indeed he is spending her money for himself and his family?

I think you can but I believe it would be easier to avail yourself of other remedies. For instance, stealing money is a violation of civil or criminal law. Please contact me to discuss this in further detail. Once, I have more facts, I believe I have a way to revoke the POA.
