Legal Question in Elder Law in Illinois

Elderly Family Issues

All parties involved are their own decision makers and adults. Out of state dau brought elderly cousin to visit elderly parents. Dau did not like the POA for healthcare paperwork done 10 years ago. Her name was not POAHC. Mother wished to change 2 things on it, in case of a eminent death. Mother had medical procedure. Hospital offered to have POAHC redone, dau refused to help. It was not changed prior to procedure, but family POAHC knew her new 2 changes.

Dau then tied elderly father to wheelchair at hospital with her purse strap, he was not allowed to toilet, soiled himself. Dau wanted elderly father sent to psych ward. Father is stable, A & O X3, able to do own decisions. Dau had a mental breakdown in the process. Dau (out of state) did horrible things to elderly parents while visiting. Dau returned to her own home & continues abusive telephone calls, emails to elderly parents, extended family members.

We want the long distance communication abuse to stop.

What to do please? Thank you for all answers.

Re: Elderly Family Issues

You must get an order of protection from the court. POAs are easy to change if mother is of sound mind. Please call for a free consultation. George M. Zuganelis, 773-237-3516
