Family Caregiver Payment
My father is being cared for by one of
her daughters in her house . She
was at his house after he suffered a
stroke and 24/7 care was provided
by her - a contract was made and
she is paid through an account with
all SS and taxes being paid. I have
POA and now we wonder the best
way to continue to compensate my
sister. She had to quit her job and
needs money which is not a problem.
Can she charge room and board - still
provide care? Can his income just
become part of the family household
income? He has $34,000 income
and about $400,000 in assets.

Re: Family Caregiver Payment
You need to set up a lifecare contract. Also there are some creative things that should be done with the other assets.
