I filed a domestic protection in domestic violence court against my daughter and son-in-law.After numerous date attending.Respondents never answered or served with summons and alias summons.
i finally had to publish in the Daly law papers.After following all court procedure.I was given protection of the court for two years.Respondant recieved the order throught mail.They in turn got a lwayer and paid a retainer fee and wanted to contest this order.We went throught four delay hearings.Finally, there was a hearing where the judge was not well inform with elder law.She sided with the respondant.
With retainer and four hearing son-in-law got a bill over 20k.He went crazy.My car is 19yrs old,parked
in a residental parking for hadicapped with placard front of house.It was stolen. and found 30 miles southside of chicago. Next to red line trains stop.No damage except door lock and steering column.nothing was stolen.I know he is thinking about doing something again.What can I do?

Money is always the motivating factor. Seems cruel, but you should disinherint your daughter and watch her attitude change.
I would strongly recommend exploring resources available to victims of elder abuse. Illinois' Department of Human Services has an Elder Abuse Hotline (866-800-1409) which takes calls regarding abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of individuals older than 60 years of age. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office (312-603-8600) also investigates financial exploitation of the elderly.
