Re: Granny & Granson needs Help

A power of attorney must be very specific. To have power of attorney over health care AND finances/property there must be 2 separate powers of attorney. No one can have a general power of attorney. There must be a beginning date or event that triggers the power of attorney, and an event or date that ends the power of attorney. Also, Granny can revoke the power of attorney at any time. She should just send her sister a certified letter revoking the power of attorney. Then she should just leave the nursing home and give grandson power of attorney, and put house in trust so sister can't touch it. She should also change her will. This is expensive, so grandson should raise the money fast and call me.
