Medcaid
Mother in law who is 83 went to a nursing home. We paid out of her $11,000 IRA $3,800.00 for the first 35 days. The nursing home helped us fill out the pages for the Medicaid office and said they will take them to that office. I was told that a meeting with the office could be in a few weeks. My question is this,
It will be a few weeks before some money from the insurance company and some stocks arrive. We liquidated them. I need that money plus the IRA to purchase a pre paid funeral. Can the Medicaid office stop me from doing that since I will not have it done by the time I have the meeting.
