Property ownership and nursing home placement
Hello, My mom and I own a home that we are living in. I am paying the mortgage. My mom may need nursing home placement in the next several years. She currently has medicare and medicaid. Will I have to sell the house to help pay for the nursing home for her?

quite possibly. This issue is complicated and requires some calculations to be accurate.

If the two of you have lived in the house for the past 2 years, and you've been taking care of her, you may not have to sell the house to pay the nursing home.
