Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Illinois
I paid for a tour with a group two years ago, based on double occupancy, and signed up with a roommate, we leave April 18th 2012. On Tuesday, Feb. 28th, my roommate said she no long wants to room with me and I need to get my own private room at an additional cost of $640.00 or room with a semi-invalid. I am not a member of this parish and I am being manipulated into being a caregiver for an elderly woman with a walker and a cane. I believe my roommate should pay my difference since she is backing out at this late date. At this point in time no one else can join the tour. If I cancel I can only get back 75% if the $3400.00 I have already spent minus a $137.00 insurance fee. Can I sue her for the difference?

Sounds like a little christian charity is called for. Maybe you'll get lucky and the elderly woman won't make the trip or will refuse to room with you. Sounds like your intended roommate may have had good reason to refuse to room with you. Pay the difference or cancel the trip.
