Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my 17m year old son went to his school counsler and told them that he does not want to live at home anymore. this is after him and i had a big argument. I am a single parent and do have sole custody . He currently is living at his grandmothers and after talking to her, it sure sounds like she is undermining my parenting. I need to get him out of there and get him into counseling... Does he have the right to say where he lives ?

Practically no judge is going to "force" a 17 yr old to move where he claims he does not want to live. You may be completely correct, but would be going nowhere
