Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
401 retirement
I have been divorced since May 2007. It is in the divorce decree that I recieve half of the 401 retirement. My divorce atty. is no longer practicing and my ex husband will not take care of this situation. How do I go about collecting my half of the retirement that is rightfully mine?

Re: 401 retirement
You need to find an attorney that practices family law, provide the judgment to them, and they prepare a QDRO, have it entered and coordinate with the company holding the 401K funds. Our firm does this all the time, feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
