Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I was adopted by my stepfather-(I was told by my mother that has passed away)-in the early 1960's. Where would I go/look for these papers? This took place in Chicago, Illinois, I now live in Plymouth, Indiana

Contact the Clerk of the Circuit court of Cook County and ask for the County department. Tell them what you want and they will tell you whst they need. As the records sealed they may need something in writing to present to a judge
