Can grandparents on the mother's side adopt a child without the father's permission? The father has not paid child support.

Hello. The father must be notified, if the

maternal grandparents attempt to adopt his child.

This is the law. Without the father's consent,

it will be necessary for the adoption court to

hear evidence in a contested adoption and make

a decision that it considers to be in the best

interest of the child. Will be happy to answer
