adoption by non custodial parent

the father ( ted ) of my youngest daughter and i were never married but i legal custudy of her. i am re married to another man ( mo ) . ted has said that he would let mo adopt her. what paper work do we need and how do we get started.

I strongly advise that you retain an attorney because all of this must be done in court with a formal hearing removing the parental rights of your daughter's father. This is not something that you can do on your own.

Related adoptions are the most common type of adoption. That is a step-parent adopting a step-child. That doesn't mean that the adoption is easy. You need a lawyer to help you through the case.
