Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Adult/minor relationship

If an adult at the age of 24 is in a relationship with a 16 year old and they have a baby and the 16 year old parents always agreed. They let her move in with him when she was 15 and drop out of school and then she has the child and breaks up with the 24 year old and now that the child is 7 and has always had a relationship with her father and received child support (but not through the courts) is all of a sudden not allowed to see her father and her mother says she is going to turn him in for statutory rape because she feels he doesn't pay her enough money. They had been back together as recently as 2 years ago to try to make things work out for thier daughter, but couldn't seem to. Can he still be charged with statutory rape?

Re: Adult/minor relationship

Yes, hence the term "statutory". The 24 year old is asking for, and will get a lot of trouble for sex with a someone 8 years younger who is a minor. Not smart.
