Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I need some advice! I recently filed for divorce 3 weeks ago and today I got served with papers from my soon to be ex husband. His was only filed yesterday the 8th when mine was filed the 21st of January. He wasn't able to be served because he lied about where he was and is in a different state. I was wondering how he can file in the same county against me when I already did and which one is going to be valid? My case number is D-6 and his is D-14.

The first to file is usually the one to proceed. I have no idea what a D-140is. You need to file a motion to consolidate the cases.

Your case will go first, although consolidating the cases will make most of your issues moot. It appears you filed in district 6 and he filed in another district. If I had the entire number I could tell you.
