Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

At what age does court ordered visitation stop

I have court ordered visitation (until age 18) and need to know what my rights are if the child is 16. The father says that my children can decide for themselves at age 14. Please advise.

You have court ordered visitation until 18 - that's the end of the story. The child does not have a say in it. If dad wishes to try to change it, he must go back into court. Then the court looks to the best interests of the child. If the dad can't show that anything has changed besides the child's attitude, it is likely the judge will remain with the original plan.
