Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
what if me and my ex are in agreement with the custody of my child and i think its in the best interest if i dont drop my child back off to the mother, would i get in trouble when the child lives with me?

If there is a court order that has determined custody of your child, it must be followed, and if that order states you are to return your child, you certainly would be in trouble for not returning the child to the mother. The best interest of the child standard is a standard that the court uses to determine custody and is not up to the parents discretion, however, if you feel there are reasons as to why the child should not be with the mother, you should consult an attorney to see if you have a case to fight for custody, but I would need to know more information to determine whether or not that is the case here.
