Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I have an amazing two year old son whom has never met his father. I left him when I was 3 months pregnant because of violence and drug abuse. On his part, not mine. I even moved across the U.S. because I was scared of what he would do. I am worried that he may try to get custody or at least visitation rights. Because he has recently contacted me through my facebook. He knows my son's birthday and name.Is it possible even thought he is not on the birth certificate and has not provied me or my son with any help? I am a single mother and my son is my life. Please tell me there is nothing he can do.

Assuming you live in IL, if he can find out where you live so you can be served with summons, he file suit ot be declared the father and then be ordered to pay support back to the birth, and he can be awarded visitation with the child. Depending on your conduct he could be awarded custody of thr child.
