Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Can an att. rep. withour my knowledge
I hired an attorney over the phone I asked him to get me a continuance on my husband's petition for temp. releif filed in IL. He went into court and asked for a substition of judges. Afterwards he disscused with me visitation for my husband. My husband was sending no child support and I had no way of getting back from FL. This attorney then went into court without my knowledge and rep me. He then called me to tell me what happened I fired him. I have gotten no notice as to the outcome of the 2nd court date in writing and he refuses to talk to me over the phone. I also never signed a written agreement to have him rep me. Supposedly there is an order in place for my husband tohave visitaion. Is this legal?

I regret that I cannot reply to your question because it seems that the substantive answer requires the application of Illinois law. I am not admitted to practice in that State.
