Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Back child support

My son at 15 called his grandpa and asked him if he can stay with him while I finish my last semester of college. His grandpa and I agreed to this and that my son can stay there if they can afford it, we agreed that he would not ask for child support that he can afford.

Can he take me to court for back child support?

Re: Back child support

Hello. Grandpa is not the legal guardian, and has no court order granting him custody, according to the facts that you have provided. Therefore, my answer is no. He cannot seek back child support from you. You are the parent and I suggests that you make sure that grandpa is not trying to get custody or adopt your son. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
