Breach of promise

My significant other asked me to quit my job in 2006 and said he would take care of me & my daughter i did since then he has retired and has $2M and has gone back on his word. i still live eith him and i have no job or health insurance. we have been together 6yrs he wants me to leave can i sue? he has started drinking and things are bad. i have no job or money becuase of this.

I am assuming that there is no written agreement. So you can only go after him for child support (assuming it is his child). If you are not married, you cannot get maintenance.

This may seem unfair, but you had to know when you quit your job, that there was a risk this would happen. If you really just left a job and entrusted your entire future and your daughter's future to an unenforceable promise made by someone not married or related to you, there is little recourse for you.
