Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Changing supervising person for supervised visitation
My ex husband, who is a sex offender, has changed the person who has to be present when seeing his son from me, the mother, to his mother without my consent. My ex has informed me that there was a court date and everything was signed by a judge. I was not however given any papers, nor was I informed of any court date to try and contest the change. I was wondering if I can still fight the decision and if I have to follow the court order if I do not want to have his mother the only supervision on the visits.

Re: Changing supervising person for supervised visitation
This situation sounds like he gave you improper notice and you will need to go back and undo the earlier order. It sounds like you did not have representation, and this happens when the other side is pro se, since there is no law firm that the court could have checked with when your ex was standing up there (lying).
