Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

when a child becomes of age

when a child becomes of age and has many bonds that are in a safe deposit box that there is a court order to not be accessed unless by both parents together. Can the child get some bonds for college tuition with only one parent present?

Problem is one parent is not being cooperative and tuition is coming due. Would like to not have to go to court for this nonsense.

Re: when a child becomes of age

Depends on the terms of the court order. I'm assuming that the bonds were being held pursuant to a custody fight, and that they are actually your property after a certain point. If that's the case, you may now be entitled to take possession of everything without either parent.

But it all depends on the Court order... Feel free to contact us if you want to talk more.
