child custody

where do we begin if we want visitation rights set in stone instead of arguing everyday about if and when a child can come to see her father

Re: child custody

Well, that is a straight forward question. You need to go to court and have a hearing on a Petition to fix visitation. Being in the middle of 7 of them right now, I can assure you that your problem is a common one, especially in Cook county, where they still let parties get divorced without laying such a plan out. Now some judges mandate a fixed schedule prior to the divorce judgment. If you were not married to the mother, the process is still the same. Let me know if you have more questions.
