Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Child Custody, Divorce
I am looking to divorce my husband but doesn't have the money. I bought my house before wer were marry and have said that I keep the house that I am selling because He has had six jobs in the last 2 years and is working for cash right know. I don't know how I will get child support if he is working for cash. Also he said that he wants visition but doesn't want to go to court to say that he is working for cash. My oldest who is 10 doesn't want to have anything to do with him. He has only been in his life for about 3 years and we change his last name when we got married and added his father to his birth cirt. When I get divorce I am chaning my last name back to my maden name and my oldest want to do the same he still has my last name in his legal name. I also want to know my husband has a long crimal history and I know that for the kids to see him I am not sure is in the bet interest of the children my husband had a DUI and drives without a lic. he also drinks every mintue that he is not working. I guess my question is how do I keep my kids safe, and get a divorce without paying out alot. He has said I could have everything, but I want to do it right and have it end fast.
Thank you

Re: Child Custody, Divorce
With so much going on you have to speak with an attorney ASAP to fully understand your rights. If you are not able to afford an attorney I suggest you start contacting legal aid offices and see what they can do to help you.
