Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

child custody procedure

If a father lives in IL and mother with children lives in CA., does father have to retain CA attorney? Mother and father are not yet divorced. My friend is the father. I would like to give him some general information about contacting an attorney. I just don't know if he can get an IL attorney or CA attorney.

Re: child custody procedure

My suggestion is that you allow father to conduct his own business. He should always contact a local attorney before he does anything alse but marriage and divorce are very personal matters and should be handled by the people involved in them and not by outsiders. What your friend does is his business not yours.
