Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Custody and Support

My ex husband and I both have split custody at this point. his job now requires him to leave for work extrememly early and does not get home unti late. My scheudle is flexable. He agreed to give me custodial custody of our son and then has said no. He plans on moving closer to his work and thinks that split custody will continue to work. Our son will be starting preschool in the fall and he says he wants to wait until then to change the order. I have had our son since 2/1. He has given me $250 which does not even cover two weeks childcare. He wants to take turns having our son two weeks at a time, but when he has our son he will not be a the childcare giver he has had since he was six months old and then when i have him, he will be. My concern is that this is going to be very confusing for a 3 year old boy to comprehend and worry that it will affct him and disrupt the structured daily routine.

Re: Child Custody and Support

I would highly recommend modifying custody and/or visitation to address this issue. You do not have to wait until your ex feels like it. If you need a referral to a family law attorney, let me know.
