Re: Child custody
Hello -
You should file a parentage
complaint once your child
is born. We now call this
a parentage action, rather
than a paternity action
because, under the law in
Illinois, either the father
or mother can file an action
to get the father named.
Once you file this, the court
can then consider the issue
of custody, once it legally
declares you the biological
father of your child. You
should have representation
