Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Child Custody/Visitation
I have a son that I do not have custody of, I have visititation rights. The person that I was seeing after my ex and I were divorced, did not always treat my son the best. I stopped having a relationship with that person. This person is now staying with me because of some unforseen events in their life. Now my ex is saying she is taking me back to court so that my son can not be with me at all if this person is at my place. I would like to know if I could loose my visitation rights because of this. I have kept my son away from this person the best that i can and they have hardly any contact with one another. There have been a few instances that they have been together and my son was treated good. I want to know what legal rights I have to have my son around someone that is now treating him good. Do I need to get a lawyer? I can not really afford one. I pay child support and I work two jobs to support myself and whatever my son needs when he is with me.

You need a lawyer. Do whatever you need to do to raise the money, but hire a lawyer.
