Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Child Endangerment?
The father of my son has legal visitation of our son every other weekend. My lawyer tried to push supervised visitation because the father does not have a drivers license due to past dui's. Unfortunately, the judge ruled that he could have unsupervised weekends. The problem is, is that the father admits he has drove our son illegally in the past, which I definately got on to him about. We had talked about it and I thought it had stopped. But our son (who is 3) says that he has been riding in his dad's vehicle again after being there on the weekend. Is this considered child endangerment? And is there really anything I can do about it? He lives way out in the country its not like a cop can just drive on by every once in awhile.

Re: Child Endangerment?
Are you asserting that he is endangering his son because his license is suspended? I am not sure I would agree to that connection. If the father is drunk while driving that would be endangerment.
