had a child with now my Ex never married her but only lived together. Now my son lives with me . I recently got married. sons mother moved out 3 years ago. now lives out of state. we both have joint custody since his birth. what are my rights as a father

You should talk to a lawyer in your vicinity. You say you share joint custody but it doesn't sound like you've ever been to court for an actual custody determination or to set visitation and support. Since your son lives with you, now would be an ideal time for you to formalize your residential custody of the child and to get support from your ex.
