do i have to pay child support and pay for the roof over the mother and babys head??

That is a pretty general question. You do have to pay child support and its based on a % of your income. If the amount withheld is such that your wife is able to use it for other things, that is life. If you are asking whether you have to pay whatever it costs for your baby's mother to live, of course not. I need more specifics to give a better answer.
