Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child removal

I have joint parenting with my ex-husband of our 5 y/o Daughter. I've been recently married and my husband has a job offer in Ohio for the Air force that would be a great increase and the cost of living is much less. What would I have to do or what are my chances of relocating with my Daughter and husband? Would it be expensive, b/c my Ex will definitely want to prevent it and go to court?

Re: Child removal

If you are the residential parent, and you can show that you would be economically better off by moving, IL is actually easier than most states. The key is whether it is in the best interest of the child, and since more money in the family is good for the child, courts may allow this. It still requires a Petition, and a court hearing or two, but is not as hard as other states. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
