Can child support amount be reevaluated if no money to hire lawyer

My husband & I have 2 kids and live in MO. He works, I stay at home w/ them. He brings home $700/month to support our family of four. He pays $150/month child support for a child he has no visitation rights with. (Years ago, an IL court ordered child support but they never went back for visitation rights, etc.) We have no contact with the mom or child. Who, if anyone, can I contact for aide? (MO or IL?) What department? Obviously we can't afford an attorney at all. Please give me any advice you may have to offer, or at least direct me in a path of someone who might be able to help. We're desparate...Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

I do not know for certain, but there may be an attorney out there who would be willing to help your husband obtain rights of visitation or seek a modification of the child support amount for little or no money. Many lawyers do a modest amount of "pro bono" work. I would suggest that your husband contact the bar association in the county where he was divorced, or contact the state bar association (ISBA), and inquire. Many bar associations have a list of lawyers who will accept referrals to work on cases for free or for a reduced fee. Good luck.
