Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Child Support
Do I need an attorney to fight for child support?
Will I get more benefits by having a attorney?
like back support, medical expences, child care?
Also, my ex is fighting paternity, by the way he does have an attorney, because the paternity scores were low,99.75 & 99.25 is this a loop hole or what?
And does it make a difference what state you file or does it just matter what state the fathers in?
Thanks, Dawn

Re: Child Support
If the 99.25 or 99.75 are percentages, I would consider that to be a high probability that he is the father. At a trial for paternity it is necessary to show only by a preponderance of the evidence that he is the father. That is it is more likely he is the father than he is not. The percentages in this case certainly exceed the prepondance of the evidence.
Normally the case must be filed in the state in which the father lives. The district attorney or equivalent should pursue the support case for you. Contact the organization in the state in which you live and they will contact the proper organization in the state in which he lives.
