child support

i have 2 children. one was born in a marriage. the other child is with another woman-no marriage. how much child support does the younger child outside a marriage get to receive?

Hello. The amount of child support for the

younger child will be 20% of your take home pay,

based upon your take home pay after child support

for your first child is deducted. This is alittle tricky and over the last 20 years I have

seen courts enter a variety of orders, but this

type of child support order will be consistent

with what the statute provides. If you have not

been legally declared the father for your child

that was born out of wedlock, you should file a

petition for parentage immediately for two very

important reasons:

(1) To protect your parental rights, since you

will not be considered to have parental

rights before there is a court determination

in the form of an order that you are the

father and

(2) To get credit legally for child support that

you pay for your child.
