Re: child support
Hello. The amount of child support for the
younger child will be 20% of your take home pay,
based upon your take home pay after child support
for your first child is deducted. This is alittle tricky and over the last 20 years I have
seen courts enter a variety of orders, but this
type of child support order will be consistent
with what the statute provides. If you have not
been legally declared the father for your child
that was born out of wedlock, you should file a
petition for parentage immediately for two very
important reasons:
(1) To protect your parental rights, since you
will not be considered to have parental
rights before there is a court determination
in the form of an order that you are the
father and
(2) To get credit legally for child support that
you pay for your child.
I will be happy to answer any additional
questions that you may have.
