Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child support

I have my 3 children nearly half of the time (6 of 14 days). In Illinois, am I still required to pay the full 32% in child support? If I am paying for their private school and have them almost half the time, shouldn--name removed--there be consideration of how much I have them? Their mother works and makes a reasonable income.

Re: Child support

Hello and Happy New year. Generally, Illinois law holds that the person having custody of the children is entitled to receive child support. Also, the trend is for each parent to pay at least 1/2 of miscellaneous expenses such as school tuition. If you believe that your child support exceeds statutory guidelines, you may want to consider going into court to get a modification of the child support order so you will pay less. I hope my comments have been helpful. Will be happy to discuss this with you further and in more detail.
