Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support and Custody

I have a 17yr. old daughter who lives with me and her father signed a paper and gave me back custody when she was 14. He will not go to the court where he lives and tell them that he no longer wants child support for her and now I am receiving a bill for over $11,000.00 for back support. He will not pay me the support that is due to me and I am a single mother of 2 girls. I cannot afford a lawyer and my daughter will be 18 soon and they say they can take my drivers Licence away if I don't pay this support. I live in Iowa and the court order is from Union County, IL and I can't afford to drive all the way there or pay a lawyer to have this all changed. What can I do?

I am not sure what advice to give you. I am sure you understand that attorney's cannot work for free, as they have costs, and employees and such. Perhaps you should check with the bar in your county and ask if they have any pro bono services.
