Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child support

I have been divorced for over a year now and in the divorce papers I was to receive child support for one child. At the time of the divorce, I did not know where he was working (or even where he was) to set an amount. Now, he has moved back into the area and has a full time job. Do I have to go back to court to get the child support enforced. I have tried contacting the child support agencies in Illinois but have gotten no response. I have even tried to set up an appointment to meet with them. I give my ex-husband his visitation rights. He sees our daughter every weekend. I just think he should support her financially as well. I have been doing it on my own for 2 1/2 years now and sometimes it gets to be a little much but we make it. There is more to the story but this is one of the main questions I have.

Re: Child support

Yes, you must go back to court. If the issue was "reserved" in your decree you might be able to get retroactive support.
