Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
child support hearing
My ex-wife recently asked for tax returns from 3 prior years. Obvioulsy her attorney is asking for a hearing to raise child support obligation. The hard part I live in Texas, the hearing takes place in Illinois. It is highly unlikely I can be in Illinois when the hearing takes place. Any options?

Re: child support hearing
You might be able to obtain a continuance for a date that you could be there. Doesn't hurt to ask. Hire an attorney to make the motion - usually greater opportunity for success. The judge might know the attorney; s/he does not know you. Justice may be blind, but judges peek.
