Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
child support
Can you tell me where in the Illinois Statutes that it explains what child support is to be used for, not specifically, but I believe that in tells whether or not child support includes school registration.

Re: child support
Hello. That is a great question. The Domestic
Relations Division in Cook County, specifically,
has a practice of ordering non-custodial parents to pay at least 1/2 of the miscellaneous costs of
their child over and above child support. In
my opinion, school registration is a miscel-
laneous expense. I have not been able to find
specific reference to this topic in the Illinois
Compiled Statutes, but I am sure there is case
law to support this trend. Hope my answer has
been helpful.
