Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
child support
i had a judgement entered against me for child support for a outrageous amount. about 40?of my check. based on deposits i made in the bank and not based on my actual weekly earnings.my understanding of child support was that for one child you should be paying 20%of your net pay. what can i do? also my exgirlfriend does not allow me to pick up my daughter to spend some time with her. could she stop me from taking my daughter wherever i want to take her as long as its not out of state?

Re: child support
You need to go to court and have your support order adjusted. And hurry up, since any adjustment cannot go backwards. Your girlfriend has to allow you to pick up your child according to what the court order is. If she does not, you (usually through a family lawyer) need to file a post decree petition to enforce your rights.
