child support

I live in Illinois and my ex lives in Texas. I was paying a past due balance. After paying the past due balance I received a letter saying that I owed 3k in interest. Can interest be charged on child support or past due balances of child support?

Hello. Interest does accrue on delinquent child support, but you should make sure that this 3k is accurate, before you pay it. I am

surprised that this amount was not included in the initial demand for money. Will be happy to discuss this
