Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support - 2nd Opinion Continued

The courts have not yet been involved, so nothing has been ordered.

Sorry for reposting, but there's no option to reply to my original question.

The responses have raised another question, and that is what if custody is 50/50? Right now we have a verbal agreement to a pretty even 50/50 visitation. Mon/Tue with mom, Wed/Thr with dad, rotate Fri-Sun every other weekend. I wouldn't think this affects child support. Also, my house is used as my daughter's residence for school, mom lives out of district.

Thanks for your help.

I'm looking to get a 2nd opinion on how child support is calculated in Illinois. My attorney has told me that it's 20% of the difference of mine and my ex's net income. Everything I've read is that it should be a straight 20% of my net income only. My attorney is a family law attorney that's in court every day. Is it possible that I would only be liable for the 20% of the difference. How?

We separated last November. There is currently no ruling. We just have a verbal agreement as to what I am paying.
