Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support - One-half of uncovered medical - glasses/contacts

My fiance must pay for 1/2 of all uncovered reasonable and necessary medical treatment for 14 year old daughter. Mother wants him to pay for 1/2 of contacts AND glasses. Unfortunately, we are not in financial position to pay for both. My question is this: aren't glasses considered a necessity, and contacts rather vanity - or not medically necessary? If it was just contacts, we would pay 1/2, or just glasses, again we would pay 1/2. But she wants 1/2 of both, and we do not deem contacts medically necessary as she also wears glasses.

Without considering what is necessary or not the bottom line is that if you can not afford it then you can not afford it. Have your fiance call or write the ex and tell he can only afford to pay "X" amount of dollars toward this expense. If the ex is not happy then let her petition the matter before the court and let a judge decide.
