Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child support

I was ordered to pay 20% or $736 a month for my daughter and now I no longer am employed. What Iam I supposed to do. I am currently working on starting a business with a friend of mine but that will not be until Late February or early march. My ex is remarried and my child is well taken care of by her mother and her step father. The income that the mother makes is around $60000 a year and so is the step father so I know she is in good hands but I need direction. Please help!! am I to go to court and tell them at this time I cannot pay but within the next few months I will be working again with my own business or is there something else I need to do. Thank you

Re: Child support

I assume that the child support order was issued by a court in IL. If that is the case then you will need to file a petition to modify the child support order with the court that issued the child support order to begin with.
