Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support

I pay $250 per week in support when I'm working, I just got laid off. Unemoployment pay is a quarter of what I make when working. Can I have my support reduced till I go back to work, If I can, can I do it myself ? If yes what do I have to do. I would rather not pay an attorney if I didn't have too.

Re: Child Support

Immediately bring a Petition to Reduce Child Support. Unless it was your own fault that you got laid off, it's likely a court will allow support to be reduced.
