Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child support/ Proof of paternity

My daughter's father is not on the birth certificate. His family has been in her life, and he has VERY little, but she still knows him as daddy. He knows he is the father, as do I, but he has never paid child support, or done anything to help me out. He is now in the Air Force, and I want to get child support, since he now has income. My problem is, I think that if I get a lawyer and try to get him for child support, he will deny paternity to get out of his responsibilities. I know we can have a paternity test, but I can see him being stubborn and refusing to take it. So my question is, is there some law or anything that will force him to take the test, or is it his right to deny testing?

Re: Child support/ Proof of paternity

You get a lawyer and file for paternity. The judge will order him to give a blood sample for a DNA test. He will not be able to refuse. If he does, then the judge will take him into custody until its done. Please call for a free consultation.
