Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support Reduction

I hired a attorney to reduce my child support. He told me that he could reduce it almost in half. We had a court date 11/3/03 He said at that time we will settle out of court. My ex-wife supposedly agreed to it. 32 days later I can't get a answer from my attorney even after many attempts to get a answer from him! What should I do? I've already paid him!!!

Re: Child Support Reduction

Hello. Your attorney may be very busy, or have

a family or personal issues that has hindered his ability to call you back. I suggests that you write your attorney a letter, or go to his

office to see him personally or to deliver a note. Should you decide to write your attorney,

you should should mail the letter certified return/receipt. I hope this suggestion helps.

I agree with the other response, however, I would not give too much leeway. Too many attorneys ignore their clients and a year down the line, the client is out $10000 and nothing has been done on their case. So, if you get no results, get rid of your attorney and hire somebody competent.
